Our Story

Founded in Cancún in 2016

Tandoori was founded with the purpose of offering authentic Indian cuisine supported by reliable local execution and a deep understanding of the destination-wedding market.

Since its foundation, the company has developed experience working with couples, families, wedding planners, resorts and independent venues throughout Cancún, Costa Mujeres, the Riviera Maya and Tulum.

Our team combines Indian wedding experience with backgrounds in hospitality, tourism, sales and destination services. This allows us to understand both the cultural expectations of our clients and the operational realities of producing an event in the Mexican Caribbean.

Leadership

Gaspar Antonio Escamilla

Founder & CEO

Gaspar brings 12 years of experience in Indian destination weddings and hospitality. Before founding Tandoori in 2016, he participated as a partner in the opening of another Indian catering company and developed experience working alongside more than four chefs specializing in Indian cuisine.

His professional background also includes sales management for a destination management company, as well as experience in hotels, travel agencies, online travel agencies and transportation services. This combination of hospitality, tourism, sales and event experience shapes Tandoori’s strategic and operational vision.

Elizabeth Cartas Reyna

Partner & Sales Director

Elizabeth brings 16 years of experience in Indian weddings, hospitality and client development. Her knowledge of the market, cultural expectations and relationship-building process supports Tandoori’s work with couples, families, planners and hospitality partners.

Fluent communication in English, Spanish and Hindi strengthens the company’s ability to guide international clients throughout the planning process.

Mariela Madariaga

Commercial & Business Development

Mariela supports Tandoori’s commercial development, strategic relationships and new business opportunities, contributing an international and growth-oriented perspective to the company. Her experience focuses on building strong partnerships, identifying opportunities and strengthening connections with clients, collaborators and industry professionals.

Through her commercial vision, she helps expand Tandoori’s presence within the destination wedding and hospitality markets. Her approach combines relationship management, business development and strategic planning, supporting the company’s continued growth while maintaining the personalized service, cultural understanding and attention to detail that define Tandoori’s experience for every client and each event they celebrate.
